daily lunches and snacks to students. This precarious situation stems directly from an acute scarcity of commercial Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders available in the market. The school's administration revealed that their caterer is currently left with a mere two-day supply of LPG, creating a critical bottleneck for meal preparation. Consequently, parents have been advised to prepare alternative meal arrangements for their children starting from the upcoming Monday, unless the supply chain issues are resolved beforehand. This advisory underscores the immediate and tangible impact of the LPG shortage on essential services like school canteens.

The current depletion of commercial LPG cylinders, affecting institutions like The Shri Ram School, is intrinsically linked to significant disruptions in the global supply chain. Escalating tensions and ongoing conflicts in West Asia are cited as primary contributors to these logistical challenges. It is noteworthy that a substantial portion of India's LPG supply, exceeding 85%, is transported through the Strait of Hormuz. However, shipping route disruptions and reduced production capacities within the region have led to a slowdown in deliveries to numerous countries, including India. School's Communication to Parents
In a direct communication to parents, The Shri Ram School detailed the severity of the LPG shortage, explaining that their caterers have encountered insurmountable difficulties in procuring the essential 19-kg LPG cylinders indispensable for commercial kitchen operations. The email explicitly stated the limited stock, mentioning, "At present he is left with two days stock and we are hoping he will be able to procure fresh LPG stocks by Saturday. If that doesn't happen, he will not be able to provide lunch and snacks starting Monday, March 16." The school requested parental assistance in preparing packed lunches for the following week, expressing hope for a swift resolution and pledging to keep parents updated on vendor communications. The letter was signed by KA Girija, the Head of Administration, seeking community support during this challenging period.
