Devastating Morning Crash
In a horrifying turn of events on a Sunday morning around 8:30 am, a truck loaded with coal caused a catastrophic accident near the Bhaulpur tri-junction
within the Chhibramau Kotwali jurisdiction of Uttar Pradesh. The vehicle, reportedly moving at high speed, first collided violently with a scooter. This initial impact sent the scooter and its rider hurtling, and the truck continued its trajectory, ultimately crashing into a roadside shop. The force of the collision caused the truck to overturn, trapping individuals beneath its massive weight. Emergency services, including a JCB machine, were swiftly deployed to extricate those trapped. Local authorities, including the District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police, visited the scene and the injured, underscoring the gravity of the situation and ensuring immediate medical attention.
Victims Identified
The tragic incident claimed the lives of two individuals, identified as Anshika, a 14-year-old resident of Durga Nagar in Chhibramau, and Kanhaiya Lal, a 65-year-old local fruit vendor. Anshika was reportedly on her way to a coaching center when the truck struck her from behind, dragging her beneath the vehicle before it crashed into the shop. Kanhaiya Lal, who was present at the shop at the time of the incident, also tragically lost his life. The identities of the deceased highlight the vulnerability of young students and local small business owners to such road mishaps. Their families are now grappling with immense grief and loss due to this unforeseen tragedy.
Injuries and Support
Beyond the two fatalities, the accident left four other individuals with serious injuries. The truck driver, Satendra, aged 28, and his helper, Adarsh Pal, sustained injuries and were admitted to the district hospital in Chhibramau. Additionally, two sons of the deceased fruit vendor, Lal, identified as Ankit (31) and Amit (25), also suffered injuries in the crash and are receiving medical care. Authorities have been proactive in providing support. The District Magistrate announced an ex gratia payment of Rs 5 lakh for the families of each deceased person. Local political figures, including the MLA Archana Pandey and Samajwadi Party leader Arvind Singh Yadav, visited the injured and extended their condolences, with Mr. Yadav announcing financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh each for the kin of the deceased on behalf of Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav.
