The incident unfolded on Shivrampur Road in the Kotwali Karvi area of Chitrakoot district. Early morning passers-by were taken aback by the sight of numerous
monkey carcasses scattered along the roadside. The bodies were soaked and showed signs of bleeding from the mouth, which immediately prompted concern. Upon receiving this unsettling information, police and forest department officials promptly arrived at the scene. Their first actions included collecting the remains of the deceased monkeys, totaling 21 in number. Furthermore, they rescued three injured monkeys and transported them to a veterinary hospital to receive immediate medical attention. The dead monkeys were sent for post-mortem examinations to provide conclusive insights into the cause of death.
