While traversing Assam, her bus window offered glimpses of an expansive green landscape, a sea of tea leaves stretching as far as the eye could see. Patel underscored that Assam alone accounts for over half of India's tea production and approximately one-seventh of the global supply, a feat largely attributed to the labor of these women. They form the backbone of the industry, daily lifting sacks weighing up to 16kg, a testament to their extraordinary physical and mental fortitude.
