Special Train Services
To manage the increased passenger traffic during the upcoming Holi festivities, Central Railway has orchestrated a series of special train services originating
from Pune. These additional services are part of a larger network-wide operation comprising 186 special trains. Specifically, Pune will be a starting point for dedicated trains destined for various cities, including Danapur, Gorakhpur, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Ghazipur City, and Nagpur. These special services are scheduled to operate between February 21 and March 10, 2026, offering crucial travel options for those planning to celebrate Holi away from home. Passengers can secure their seats starting February 18. For confirmed and unreserved accommodation, ticketing is available through computerized reservation centers, the official IRCTC website, and the RailOne mobile application, along with the UTS system for unreserved coaches at standard fares.
Pune-Danapur Routes
Two distinct daily and bi-weekly special train services will connect Pune and Danapur to facilitate Holi travel. The daily Pune-Danapur Special (Train No. 01449) is set to depart Pune daily at 3:30 pm from February 21 to March 8, reaching Danapur by 2:45 am on the third day. Its return counterpart, Train No. 01450, will leave Danapur daily at 5:00 am from February 23 to March 10, arriving back in Pune by 6:15 pm the following day. Key intermediate stops for this service include Daund, Ahilyanagar, Kopargaon, Manmad, Bhusaval, Itarsi, Jabalpur, Katni, Satna, Manikpur, Prayagraj Chheoki, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction, Buxar, and Ara. The daily service will operate as Special Trains from February 21 to March 2 (16 services) and then transition to Holi Specials from March 1 to March 10 (16 services). Complementing this is the Pune-Danapur Bi-Weekly Special (Train No. 01481), departing Pune every Monday and Friday at 7:55 pm from February 23 to March 6, arriving at Danapur by 8:00 am on the third day. The return journey (Train No. 01482) departs Danapur every Wednesday and Sunday at 10:00 am from February 25 to March 8, reaching Pune by 6:15 pm the next day. This bi-weekly service will run as Special Trains from February 23 to March 1 and as Holi Specials from March 2 to March 8.
Pune-Gorakhpur Service
A daily special train service has been introduced for the Pune-Gorakhpur route to accommodate the surge in passengers during the Holi period. Train No. 01415 will depart from Pune every day at 6:50 am, commencing its service from February 21 and concluding on March 8. The train is scheduled to arrive in Gorakhpur by 4:00 pm on the following day. The return service, identified as Train No. 01416, will depart Gorakhpur daily at 5:30 pm from February 22 to March 9, making its way back to Pune and is expected to arrive at 3:15 am on the third day of its journey. This route includes significant halts at Daund Chord Cabin, Ahilyanagar, Kopargaon, Manmad, Bhusaval, Khandwa, Itarsi, Rani Kamlapati, Bina, Virangana Lakshmibai Jhansi, Orai, Kanpur Central, Lucknow, Gonda, and Basti. These trains will operate initially as Special Trains from February 21 to March 1, and subsequently as dedicated Holi Specials from March 1 to March 9.
Pune-Ghazipur Connectivity
For travelers heading towards Ghazipur City, Central Railway is operating a bi-weekly special train service from Pune. This service, designated as Train No. 01431, will depart from Pune every Tuesday and Friday. The service commences on February 24 and will run until March 6, departing at 6:40 am and arriving in Ghazipur at 7:05 pm on the subsequent day. The return journey, facilitated by Train No. 01432, will depart Ghazipur City every Thursday and Sunday. This return service begins on February 26 and concludes on March 8, with departures scheduled at 4:20 am, arriving back in Pune by 4:20 pm on the same day. The operations will be structured in two phases: first as Special Trains from February 24 to March 1, and then transitioning to Holi Specials from March 3 to March 8, ensuring continued connectivity during the festive period.
Pune-Hazrat Nizamuddin Link
A weekly special train is enhancing connectivity between Pune and Hazrat Nizamuddin for the Holi season. Train No. 01491 departs Pune every Friday, specifically on February 27 and March 6, at 5:30 pm. Passengers will arrive at Hazrat Nizamuddin the following day around 8:00 pm. The return service, Train No. 01492, departs Hazrat Nizamuddin every Saturday, on February 28 and March 7, at 9:25 pm, reaching Pune by 11:55 pm on the next day. Key intermediate stations along this route include Lonavala, Kalyan, Bhiwandi Road, Vasai Road, Vapi, Surat, Vadodara, Ratlam, Kota, Sawai Madhopur, Bharatpur, and Mathura Junction. These trains will operate as Special Trains on February 27–28 and then as Holi Specials on March 6–7, providing a dedicated link for the festival.
Pune-Nagpur Services
Two distinct weekly special train services are being operated between Pune and Nagpur to manage the increased travel demand for Holi. The first service, Train No. 01469, departs Pune every Tuesday at 3:50 pm, running on February 24 and March 3. It arrives in Nagpur by 6:30 am the next day. The return service, Train No. 01470, departs Nagpur every Wednesday at 8:00 am, operating on February 25 and March 4, and reaches Pune by 11:30 pm on the same day. The second weekly service, Train No. 01457, departs Pune every Wednesday at 3:50 pm, with services on February 25 and March 4, arriving in Nagpur at 6:30 am the following morning. Its counterpart, Train No. 01458, departs Nagpur every Thursday at 8:00 am, running on February 26 and March 5, and arrives back in Pune by 11:30 pm the same day. The first set of services (01469/01470) will run as Special Trains on February 24-25 and as Holi Specials on March 3-4. The second set (01457/01458) will operate as Special Trains on February 25–26 and as Holi Specials on March 4–5. These routes include numerous halts such as Uruli, Daund Chord Line, Ahilyanagar, Belapur, Kopergaon, Manmad, Jalgaon, Bhusaval, Malkapur, Shegaon, Akola, Badnera, Dhamangaon, and Wardha, ensuring broad accessibility.
