The Transit Journey Begins
A Pakistani national named Wanzipa recently embarked on a journey from London to Nepal, with a significant 10-hour layover scheduled at Mumbai's Chhatrapati
Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. Sharing her experience through a viral video, Wanzipa initially expressed some apprehension due to traveling with a Pakistani passport. She clarified that her transit was entirely within the international terminal, a key factor in ensuring a smooth process as she did not need to go through immigration checks. Despite landing during late hours and feeling the fatigue of her journey, Wanzipa found the airport's amenities to be highly conducive to a comfortable stopover, allowing her to rest and recharge before her onward flight.
Airport Amenities & A Minor Hiccup
Wanzipa's layover was significantly enhanced by the airport's facilities. She utilized a lounge to relax, enjoyed meals, and managed to get some much-needed rest. A brief moment of concern arose when she received a WhatsApp call from an Indian number concerning her luggage. The call alerted her to a 'suspicious' item in her bag, which turned out to be a power bank. The situation was quickly resolved with a request for her to remove the device, a process she described as being handled smoothly and without undue stress. This minor incident did not detract from her overall positive impression of the airport's operational efficiency and staff responsiveness.
Positive Staff & Overall Impression
Reflecting on her entire experience, Wanzipa was overwhelmingly positive about her encounter with Mumbai airport. She praised the staff across the board, noting their helpfulness and the overall welcoming environment. Her statement, 'My experience in general was great. I just couldn’t believe I saw Mumbai. All staff in general were great, and I had an amazing time,' encapsulates her satisfaction. She humorously added that she left the lounge feeling completely full after enjoying the food. The positive reception of her shared experience online, with many encouraging her to explore India on future visits, highlights the warmth and hospitality extended, even during a brief transit.
