The trailer of Ajay Devgn's much-awaited Drishyam 3: The Conclusion was unveiled on Wednesday, September 9. The launch event was graced by the principal
cast of the film, including Ajay, Tabu, and Jaideep Ahlawat. While the title itself mentions that this is the concluding part, speculations about a possible fourth instalment have not stopped, especially since the makers of the Malayalam instalment announced a new part. Thus, Ajay was quizzed about the Hindi version getting another instalment at the trailer launch, and he put a stop to the speculations, but not without a twist.
Ajay Devgn Says Drishyam 3 Will Be The Final Instalment
While speaking at the trailer launch event, Ajay Devgn opened up about the journey of Drishyam 3 and admitted that the third part was not always certain to be made. He explained that the challenge was to continue the story from where the previous film ended while still bringing fresh twists and keeping the audience engaged.
Ajay said, "I think after 2, we didn't know if this film would be made or not. Because this is not a film where you work out a script and make a sequel." He added that the story needed to stay in the same space while taking the narrative forward.
The actor further revealed that the idea eventually came from director Abhishek Pathak, who then spent years developing the screenplay with the writers. Ajay said, "He worked very hard, and he came out with a script, which I really think was brilliant." The team eventually felt that the story had reached the right point to conclude the franchise.
Explaining why he believes the third instalment should be the conclusion, Ajay said, "I don't think that you should even attempt to go beyond this. Everything, if you leave it at the top, that's the best thing."
The actor was then asked if Drishyam 3 would mark the end of the franchise. In response, he maintained that, as things stand today, this is indeed the conclusion. "For now, it's the conclusion. No one knows what will happen tomorrow. But at the moment, I am sure this is the conclusion," he said.
Drishyam 3 Release Date
The Hindi version of Drishyam 3, officially titled Drishyam: The Conclusion, is scheduled for a theatrical release on October 2, 2026. Directed by Abhishek Pathak, the crime thriller stars Ajay Devgn returning as the iconic Vijay Salgaonkar alongside Tabu, Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor, and Ishita Dutta. Exciting new additions to the cast include Jaideep Ahlawat and Prakash Raj.
Unlike the previous instalments, the Hindi third chapter is not a direct remake of Mohanlal’s Malayalam Drishyam 3.
