Abhishek Banerjee became a household name with his fictional character, Jana, hailing from the mysterious horror-comedy franchise backed by Maddock Films.
The Supernatural Universe kicked off with Stree in 2018 and owing to its success, an entire slate has been announced that will conclude with Pehla Mahayudh and Doosara Mahayudh in 2028. After Stree 2 in 2024, the next film on the cards is Thama. The teaser of the vampire love story was unveiled today.

Now, all eyes are on Thama and whether Jana would be the connecting thread between the multiverses that could bring Stree, Bhediya, Munjya and the vampire-human pair together. In an exclusive interview with Zoom, Abhishek lauded Thama’s teaser and called it a ‘Diwali Dhamaka’.

Reacting to whether he is a part of Thama, Abhishek said, “We’re building a world of mystery, so let mystery be. That answer you will get when the film releases.”

Reviewing the teaser, the actor shared, “I am very excited for Thama. It is a new world and has phenomenal actors. Ayushmann, Rashmika, Nawazuddin and Paresh are fantastic. My company has done the casting. Amazing performances and great visuals are coming your way. The teaser looks like a Diwali Dhamaka. Excited to welcome another of our own.”
About Thama
Thama is the first love story in the Maddock Supernatural Universe. Said to be the story of a human and a vampire, the teaser created the right amount of intrigue by not giving out the entire plot. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, the film releases on Diwali 2025 Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, Paresh Rawal and Nawazuddin Siddiqui are taking the Maddock Supernatural Universe forward with Thama, a romantic film infused with elements of a horror-comedy. The movie also stars Faisal Malik and Geeta Agarwal.
