Ajay Devgn celebrated six years of his film Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, directed by Om Raut. Taking to his social media handle, the actor posted a throwback
look from his film but the internet could not stop themselves from noticing a phrase that hints at a sequel. Ajay also wrote in Marathi language that translated into, 'The fort is won, but the lion is dead’. For the unversed, the film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar and Ajay Devgn under T-Series Films and Ajay Devgn FFilms.
Ajay Devgn hints at Tanhaji sequel
While sharing six years of his 2020 release Tanhaji, Ajay Devgn wrote, "But the story isn't over yet..." which clearly hints at a sequel to the film. This post marks the first indirect announcement to an anticipated release which will continue the story of the 17th century Tanhaji. Ajay Devgn played the titular role of Subhedar Tanaji Malusare while Kajol played Savitri Bai. The historical film also starred Saif Ali Khan as Udaybhan Singh Rathore. Take a look at the post below:

Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior is set in the 17th century and revolves around Tanaji Malusare, a Subhedar in Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s Maratha army, attempts to recapture the Kondhana fortress after Mughal emperor Aurangzeb takes control over it and passes the baton to his trusted guard Udaybhan Singh Rathore. The film won Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment, Best Actor (Devgn) and Best Costume Design at the 68th National Film Awards. Tanhaji released in theatres on January 10, 2020.
Ajay Devgn was recently starred in De De Pyaar De 2, alongside Rakul Preet Singh. The story follows Aashish and Ayesha (played by Rakul Preet Singh) as they continue to navigate the challenges of their age-gap relationship. However, this time, the real struggle lies in winning over her family. While the original film was directed by Akiv Ali, the sequel has been helmed by Anshul Sharma.
