Rashmika Mandanna wraps Mysaa's tough underwater sequence
Rashmika Mandanna has successfully wrapped one of the toughest shooting schedules for Mysaa, completing an extensive underwater action sequence that is being described as India's first female underwater fight sequence.
The update was shared by director Rawindra Pulle, who posted behind-the-scenes pictures of Rashmika from the demanding schedule. Sharing the images, he wrote about it being India's first such kind of a scene and added, "The Surface Was Never the Limit. Beneath the depths lies a battle unlike anything Indian cinema has seen. Get ready to witness the fury."
Rashmika also reshared the post on her Instagram Stories, revealing just how difficult the experience had been. She accepted that she had been 'MIA' but she was busy shooting for Mysaa. "This is by far the most challenging thing I've ever had to do - in life! We are crazy for this but that's what's gotten me so so excited!" she wrote.
More about Rashmika Mandanna's Mysaa
According to the makers, the underwater sequence was filmed across two days, during which Rashmika Mandanna spent nearly 20 hours underwater under extremely demanding conditions. Instead of relying on a body double, the actress chose to perform the action scenes herself, making the physically exhausting schedule even more impressive.
The sequence is expected to become one of the biggest highlights of Mysaa, a female-led action drama. The visuals hinted at a darker, more intense world, with Rashmika portraying a fierce and powerful character unlike anything she has played before.
Even before the underwater schedule, the actress had been making headlines for her rigorous preparation for the film. She underwent extensive martial arts and action training to convincingly portray the physically demanding role. Earlier reports also revealed that the film features a high-intensity forest combat sequence, further highlighting the action-packed nature of the project.
Directed by Rawindra Pulle and backed by Unformula Films, Mysaa is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious female-centric action films in Indian cinema. The makers have consistently stated that the film goes beyond the conventional heroine-led narrative and from the first glimpses, it is apparent that Rashmika and the team are going all out.
