The entire nation is grieving the loss of legendary Indian singer Asha Bhosle. She breathed her last at the age of 92 on April 12. Her son, Anand Bhosle,
shared the news of his mother's demise during a media interaction. Later, Breach Candy Hospital's Dr Pratit Samdani confirmed that the veteran singer died due to multiple organ failure. Earlier today, several Indian celebrities paid their last respects to Asha ji at her Mumbai residence. Now, Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has paid an emotional tribute to her via his blog post.
Amitabh Bachchan's tribute to Asha Bhosle
Taking to his Tumblr blog, Amitabh Bachchan expressed grief and sorrow over Asha Tai's death. "An entire era .. an incredible .. a phenominal, astounding, prodigious , presence … lost yesterday .. the iconic, legendary Asha Bhosle ji , has left us .. In immense grief .."
The Kalki 2898 AD actor further expressed that Asha Tai's versatility in giving life to every song she crooned, has gone to the heaven. He added that the legendary singer left everyone with an entire encyclopedia for eternal music. Towards the end of his note, Big B wote, "The body has left us .. but her soul shall remain forever with us .. Her voice - the soul, shall ever be immortalised .. In immense grief."
Shah Rukh Khan remembers Asha Bhosle
On April 12, Shah Rukh Khan mourned the loss of Asha Tai's demise. The superstar shared a picture with the singer and penned a touching note. "It's truly sad to learn about Asha Tai's passing. her voice has been one of the pillars of Indian cinema and will continue to resonate world over for centuries to come." SRK called Asha Tai a 'talent' that will outlive many. The actor revealed that the legendary singer always showered him with blessings and love. "Rest in Peace Asha Tai. love you," he added.

Meanwhile, Asha Bhosle crooned more than 12,000 songs in her eight-decade-long music career. She was the first Indian singer to be nominated at The Grammy awards. She married Ganpatrao Bhosle, with whom she had three children - Anand, Hemant and Varsha. Later, in 1980, the veteran singer got married to RD Burman. On the other hand, her siblings are Lata Mangeshkar, Hridaynath Mangeshkar, Usha Mangeshkar, and Meena Khadikar.
