Nagarjuna Akkineni is set to mark a big milestone with his 100th film, which is tentatively known as King 100, directed by Ra Karthik. The film has already
created excitement, not only for its scale but also for bringing back Tabu alongside Nagarjuna after nearly three decades. Known for their memorable pairing in the past, Nagarjuna has now opened up about her involvement in it and the film's plot.
Nagarjuna and Tabu Reunite After 28 Years
One of the biggest highlights of the project is Nagarjuna’s reunion with Tabu after nearly 28 years. The duo previously shared screen space in successful films like Ninne Pelladata and Aavida Maa Aavide, with their chemistry winning love from audience.
Their collaboration in Ninne Pelladata remains popular, as the film was both a critical and commercial success. The upcoming reunion in King 100 has sparked excitement among fans who have long awaited seeing the pair together again on screen.
Known for his versatility, Nagarjuna is expected to present himself in a stylish avatar which is a reminder of his iconic roles in films like Shiva and Ratchagan.
The film was officially launched in October 2025 with a simple muhurtham ceremony, and production has been progressing steadily. According to recent updates, nearly half of the film has already been completed, with more announcements expected soon.
King 100 Plot
In an exclusive chat with Variety, Nagarjuna has revealed that King 100 will be a complete commercial entertainer. At its core, the story revolves around a father-daughter relationship, layered with a rags-to-riches narrative. Adding to the film’s uniqueness is the use of de-aging technology, which will allow Nagarjuna to appear across different age phases which is from 25 to 60.
Apart from Nagarjuna and Tabu, the film features actors like Sushmita Bhatt and Vijayendra in key roles. To play Nagarjuna’s close companion in the film, the makers have reportedly cast Ravindra Vijay. The The Family Man actor has been making a mark in Telugu cinema, with appearances in films like Ghaati and Kothapallilo Okkapudu in 2025. The project is being produced under Annapurna Studios, owned by Nagarjuna Akkineni, with Devi Sri Prasad likely to compose the music.
The project is being carefully crafted, with Ra Karthik reportedly spending considerable time refining the script to align with Nagarjuna’s screen persona. The director, known for his work in Nitham Oru Vaanam and Made In Korea said that Nagarjuna chose a Tamil filmmaker for this milestone project based purely on his vision rather than language or industry boundaries.
