Main Vaapas Aaunga is all set to land on Netflix and as per Free Press Journal, the film will start streaming from August 7, 2026. Released in theatres on June 12, 2026, earned positive reviews and emerged as a sleeper hit at the box office. Now ranked among the top-grossing Hindi films of the year, its OTT debut has become one of the most-awaited digital premieres.
About Main Vaapas Aaunga
Main Vaapas Aaunga tells a deeply emotional story across two timelines. Set against the backdrop of the 1947 Partition, it follows young lovers Keenu (Vedang Raina) and Jiya (Sharvari) whose lives are torn apart by the India-Pakistan divide. Decades later, Keenu, now 95 and battling dementia, unknowingly reveals fragments of his past, prompting his grandson Nirvair (Diljit Dosanjh) to travel across the border in search of Jiya.
Rather than ending with a long-awaited reunion, the film delivers a poignant message about love, loss and closure, as Keenu finally learns Jiya had waited for him all her life before passing away, allowing him to find peace in his final moments.
The in-house review of Zoom stated that Main Vaapas Aaunga is an Imtiaz Ali masterclass and praised the filmmaker for blending the harrowing reality of the Partition with a deeply moving love story. The review noted that while the central romance may appear morally complex, Imtiaz remains true to his signature style of exploring love beyond conventional boundaries. It also observed that a tighter first half could have improved the pacing for modern audiences, but added that viewers who stay invested are rewarded with an emotionally satisfying and impactful conclusion.

As per Sacnilk, Main Vaapas Aaunga has collected Rs 77.03 crore (gross) and Rs 64.83 crore (net) in India as of now. Meanwhile, the film has grossed Rs 98.86 crore worldwide.
