a picture of his brother Charuhaasan, along with his sister-in-law. The picture comes a day after Charuhaasan's birthday, which he celebrated on January 5th. The image features Kamal Haasan showing off his majestic smile, while addressing his brother and himself as the kings of smiles. Charuhaasan has turned 96. Kamal has often acknowledged Charu’s principled lifestyle, and addressed him as a fatherly figure.

The post shared by Kamal Haasan on X read "2 புன்னகை மன்னர்கள் + மன்னி(two king of smiles plus my sister in law). The picture featured Kamal Haasan standing, while Charuhaasan and his wife were seated. A day earlier, Charuhaasan's daughter Suhasini shared a touching video of herself singing a birthday song for her father.
The video also captures a sweet moment where she asks what he would like to say to his friends on his special day. His response was filled with gratitude, as he expressed how blessed he feels to have lived a happy life surrounded by good friends and, most of all, to be with his beloved daughter. Suhasini’s caption read: “My father. The best in the world completes 96. What a man. The world needs, and always will, men/fathers like him. He is extraordinary. We are so lucky – Nandhini, me, and Bashinj.”
About Charuhaasan
Charuhaasan made his film debut at the age of fifty and went on to win the National Award at the age of fifty-seven. He is the oldest living Haasan of the family. Some of his best films include Vedham Pudhithu, Tabarana Kathe and Thalapathi. He last played the lead role in Dha Dha 87. Released in 2019 the action drama film written and directed by Vijay Sri G is a spiritual successor to Sathya (1988), which starred Charuhaasan's younger brother Kamal Haasan in the lead. On the work front, Kamal Haasan is working on a film with Anbariv.
