What is the story about?
Blackpink bid a tearful goodbye to BLINKs as Jisoo, Lisa, Jennie and Rosé wrapped up their DEADLINE World Tour. The concerts, which started on July 5,
2025, at the Goyang Stadium in South Korea, concluded on January 26, 2026, at the Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong, after 33 sold-out stadium shows worldwide over a successful seven-month run. However, Rosé's emotional address to BLINKs at the end, where she traced their journey from trainee days to global stardom, gave a strong hint that this might be the last time we got to see Blackpink perform as a full group, and that OT4 was now headed for a disbandment.
Blackpink wraps up DEADLINE World Tour
During DEADLINE, Blackpink had stop-overs at some of the biggest venues like SoFi in LA and Stade de France in Paris. Infact the Hong Kong finale across three nights drew over 90,000 fans. However, moments of the four members comforting each other backstage grabbed eyeballs and left fans heartbroken.
Disbandment speculations
Blackpink has been fueling up disbandment rumours for sometime now. Also, given some noticeable behaviour within the group, including how some alleged that Jisoo was left ignored during the Hong Kong show, left many convinced that all was not well within the K-pop girl band. Netizens even took to social media to express concerns about the group members parting ways going forward.
BLINKs react to rumours
A fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter), "Word on the street is that Blackpink is disbanding soon.." Another one noticed how each member was almost on the verge of crying. They reacted, "my f*cking god they’re actually disbanding and this is their last concert as blackpink." A user said, "people saying blackpink's disbandment is getting closer and closer everyday like shut up please just let me enjoy their new music!!!!!!!" A second one noted, "blackpink crying their eyes out on their last show...yeah the disbandment is imminent"
A comment read, "Why does it feel like farewell I'm not ready for this plz" One fan demanded, "Whatever their next steps may be, I hope they say it together, at least through a live. Not through a company statement, or pretending like this is nothing. Blinks deserve that closure."
Jisoo, Rosé, Lisa, Jennie's tearful goodbye
Just before wrapping up DEADLINE, and after their last act, all four members collected on stage, as Rosé said, "Last night before bed, so many thoughts suddenly flashed through my mind. I thought about our trainee days, calling our moms, and how we became Blackpink. We've achieved so much, all thanks to Blinks. There were tough times, but also many things worth celebrating together. Thinking about it, the tears just kept flowing."
The APT hitmaker also added how the group was awaiting the release of their new album. "This final show of our Blackpink tour was so precious. I truly enjoyed every moment until the very end, and I hope Blinks could feel our happiness too. Just as Jisoo said, our new song is coming next month, so please look forward to it. Most importantly, Blackpink and Blinks have become the source of my strength for the future. I love Blackpink so, so much. I hope to be a group that is meaningful to all of you. We forever young," Rosé said.
OT4's solo careers
Lisa, Jisoo and Jennie also spoke about the love of BLINKs and the members tears each other with tearful eyes.
This comes as the four members have individually cemented their careers as soloists. While Jisoo and Lisa have also turned towards acting, Rosé is now a Grammy nominated artist for her collaboration with Bruno Mars in APT.
Blackpink is set to drop its new mini-album titled Deadline under YG Entertainment on February 27.
