What is the story about?
Jailer 2 continues its impressive box-office run, but Rajinikanth’s action drama is showing signs of slowing down as it enters the latter half of its second
week in theatres. The Nelson Dilipkumar directorial has crossed the Rs 750 crore mark worldwide and added another big achievement in Kerala, where it has surpassed the nine-year record held by Baahubali 2. However, its latest domestic collection indicates a dip in daily earnings. With the film already emerging as one of the biggest Indian releases of 2026, fans are now curious to know how it performs in the coming days.
Jailer 2 Box Office Collection Day 14: Rajinikanth Film Crosses Rs 750 Crore Worldwide, Breaks Baahubali 2’s 9-Year Kerala Record
According to Sacnilk, Jailer 2 collected Rs 6.55 crore on Day 14, taking its total India net collection to Rs 423 crore. The latest figure indicates a decline in daily earnings as the film completes two weeks in theatres.
The Rajinikanth starrer opened strongly on October 15, collecting Rs 59.70 crore net in India on its first day. Advance bookings had also generated interest, with the film selling around 18 lakh tickets during domestic pre-sales. Its India nett collection reached Rs 334.35 crore during the first week, setting the stage for an impressive theatrical run.
While the film's daily earnings have now slowed, its worldwide total has crossed Rs 750 crore. It has also become the second-highest-grossing Indian film of 2026, behind Dhurandhar The Revenge. The upcoming release of Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash, on November 5 could add further competition at the box office.
Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 Breaks Baahubali 2’s Kerala Record
More than its worldwide earnings, Jailer 2 has achieved a big milestone in Kerala. By Day 13, the film had reportedly collected Rs 72.85 crore gross in the state, surpassing the approximately Rs 72.25 crore lifetime collection of SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2. The achievement makes it the highest-grossing non-Malayalam film in Kerala. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Sun Pictures, Jailer 2 sees Rajinikanth return as retired jailer Tiger Muthuvel Pandian. The sequel features Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Vidya Balan and Mithun Chakraborty, with Anirudh Ravichander composing the music.
Following the film’s release, Nelson thanked audiences for their response in a post on X, writing, “Theatres are going bonkers! Thalaivar magic hits different. Thank you, dear audience, for the phenomenal love and reception for #Jailer2. Nothing beats seeing the audience celebrate it like this! Thank you all for the love and support.”
