Allu Arjun and Atlee's big-budget film Raaka is once again in the news, this time for a possible change in its release plan. Reports suggest the makers
are thinking about splitting the film into two parts, much like what happened with Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar. While nothing has been officially confirmed, discussions around this idea are already said to be underway among the film's core team.
Raaka Makers Exploring Two-Part Release Idea Like Dhurandhar
According to a Bollywood Hungama report, the story and scale of Raaka have grown too big to fit into one movie, and the team wants to do justice to both. With a considerable chunk of the shoot still pending, it will be a challenge to fit the entire footage into a 3-hour film.
"However, the makers have not yet locked in the two-part concept, as Atlee is still exploring how the story might best be structured, and a definitive decision will be taken only after shooting wraps," the report added.
Allu Arjun and the rest of the team have full trust in Atlee's vision and are happy to give him the time he needs to bring this ambitious project to life. The Pushpa star is said to have kept his schedule free for Raaka until December, after which he will move on to Lokesh Kanagaraj's superhero film early next year.
Earlier, Aditya Dhar and Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar was also split into two parts just months before release, and both movies went on to become massive hits.

The story of Raaka reportedly unfolds across two different timelines, one set in a tribal, Puranic-Vedic era and the other in a modern-day setting. Allu Arjun is said to be playing multiple roles in the film, with reports even suggesting he could be seen in three different characters across the story.
The film boasts a stellar cast, including Deepika Padukone, Mrunal Thakur, Rashmika Mandanna, and Janhvi Kapoor. While Deepika is reportedly tied to the mythic timeline, Mrunal is said to play the female lead in the modern portion of the story. There are also buzzing rumours of a Shah Rukh Khan cameo, though this remains unconfirmed.
Backed by Sun Pictures and Kalanithi Maran, Raaka is being positioned as a high-concept, VFX-heavy spectacle. The shoot is expected to be completed by December 2026 and the makers are eyeing a late 2027 release. Post-production and the final release strategy will follow once filming wraps.
