SRK during a conversation with Rajkummar Rao on Kaun Banega Crorepati 18. Rajkummar, who has often spoken about being inspired by SRK's journey, also recalled his own struggling days in Mumbai. He revealed that he once stood outside the superstar's bungalow Mannat while trying to find work as an aspiring actor.
Rajkummar Rao Recalls Standing Outside Mannat
Rajkummar Rao opened up about his admiration for Shah Rukh Khan while speaking to Amitabh Bachchan on KBC 18. He recalled that SRK's journey from a middle-class family in Delhi to becoming the biggest Bollywood star inspired him. Rajkummar said he had decided to pursue acting at a young age and looked up to SRK.
Rajkummar also remembered his first days in Mumbai, when he was trying to get a break in television. He revealed that he had come to Mumbai for a show but was not selected. Despite the setback, he continued to pursue his dream and even found himself standing outside Mannat during those struggling days.
He shared, "I was greatly inspired by Shah Rukh Sir's journey, how a boy from Delhi, from a middle-class family, went on to do theatre, then worked in several television shows and eventually became a very big superstar. So, when I first came to Mumbai, I had come here for a show, but I wasn't selected. However, I would always stand outside your bungalow and in front of Mannat."
Rajkummar had appeared on KBC 18 to promote his upcoming film Prahaar, co-starring Wamiqa Gabbi.

Rajkummar Rao's story prompted Amitabh Bachchan to share his own experience of working with Shah Rukh Khan. The veteran actor praised SRK for his attitude towards challenges and said that the superstar does not easily accept defeat. According to Big B, SRK has a way of handling difficult situations while also giving confidence to people around him.
"Let me tell you, I have worked with him and he is the kind of person who never gives up on anything. Whatever the problem may be, he simply speaks up and boosts the confidence of the person in front of him," Amitabh said.
The two actors have shared the screen in several films, including Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Mohabbatein, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, and Paheli.
