Talking to Hindustan Times, Tina said, “It's all rumours. I don't pay attention to these rumours.” Revealing how her parents react to these reports, Tina said, “Kya bolun main? He is not even in the country.” Then the proud daughter added, “I feel blessed to have a beautiful family and I am really grateful for all the concern, love and support we have been receiving from the media, fans, and loved ones.”
More about the divorce claims
For the unversed, as per reports by Hauterrfly, Sunita did file for divorce at the Bandra Family Court on December 5, 2024. The petition was registered under Section 13 (1) (i), (ia), (ib) of the Hindu Marriage Act, citing issues such as adultery, cruelty, and desertion. Govinda was also asked to appear in court, but he only showed up after a notice was served in May 2025. Since June this year, counselling sessions ordered by the court have been underway. While Sunita has been attending them regularly, it’s still not confirmed whether Govinda has joined the sessions online.
However, Govinda’s lawyer, Lalit Bindra, recently told NDTV, “Koi case nahi, sab settle ho raha hai. Ye sab log purani cheezen utha ke daal rahe hain” (“There is no case, everything is being settled, people are just bringing up old matters”).
Govinda and Sunita tied the knot on March 11, 1987. They have two children - daughter Tina Ahuja, born in 1989, and son Yashvardhan Ahuja, born in 1997.
