the actor recalled his first meeting with filmmaker Karan Johar and shared the most valuable advice he received from his mentor.
Lakshya talks about Karan Johar’s advice
In a conversation with Raj Shamani, Lakshya shared, “Karan sir always tells me, the only thing I loved about you is ki tu ekdum desi hai aur tu jahan se aata hai na that reflects in your personality, be like that, mat banne ki koshish kar, tera weapon hi wahi hai, tera armour hi wahi hai. As a mentor, this was the strongest advice I got from him.”
(Translation: “You’re completely desi, and where you come from reflects in your personality. Be yourself; don’t try to be someone else. That’s your strength and your shield.”)

Lakshya recalls his first meeting with Karan Johar
Lakshya fondly recalled his first meeting with Karan Johar, saying, “I was nervous, bahut nervous tha main (I was very nervous). He was extremely polite, asked me kaunsi filmein dekhte ho (what kind of films do you watch), and spoke to me in Hindi because he probably knew I’m from Delhi. Back then, I couldn’t speak much; I was scared and had no confidence. Whatever little I said in English, then I switched to Hindi. He liked that I spoke Hindi, I think no one around him did! I was shocked how can someone be so humble, so normal? I thought there would be some arrogance, that he’d tell me to sit somewhere else, but he spoke to me just like a friend.”
Lakshya recalls Karan Johar’s appreciation after The Ba***ds Of Bollywood
He added, “He called me after The Ba***ds Of Bollywood, and he was extremely emotional. He said, ‘I’m so proud of you, son. Now people are calling me and telling me that I feel like a father. I feel like mera beta ne class top kiya hai (my son has topped the class).’”
