Priyadarshan's Haiwaan is one of the most anticipated releases of September. Starring Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan in lead roles, the crime thriller
stars Saif Ali Khan and Akhsay Kumar in lead roles. It marks their big-screen reunion after Tashan, which also featured Kareena Kapoor Khan. Ahead of Haiwaan's release, Zoom conducted an exclusive interview with its producer Shailaja Desai Fenn (owner of Thespian Films). In conversation with us, she confirmed Mohanlal's appearance in the movie. For that matter, she even revealed how Haiwaan is different from Priyadarshan's Malayalam film Oppam.
Shailaja Desai Fenn On Haiwaan, Mohanlal's Presence
When Shailaja was asked if Mohanlal is a part of Akshay and Saif's Haiwaan, she told Zoom, "Yes, he is in the film. I can say that much." She further reflected on how the upcoming project differs from Mohanlal's Malayalam thriller Oppam.
"See, Oppam was made for a Malayalam audience. It was made way back in 2016. It is the same director who is telling the story in Hindi. So, obviously, the story is of today - it is more contemporary. Plus, it is for the Hindi audience. It will have its own touch to it," she said.
As she continued her chat with us, Shailaja shared that Saif has given his all to the character from the moment he said yes to doing the film. The actor plays the role of a visually impaired man. "He has put effort in the way it (character) should be, the way it looks, the way it talks - everything he has put in his best. And the same I can say for Akshay sir as well. He has never played a character which is a completely black character. It's not a grey character or any of that."
The Haiwaan producer added that Akshay also put in effort for the way his character looks. He even came up with idea of putting the beanie and making his character darker.

Apart from Akshay and Saif, the star cast of Haiwaan features Boman Irani, Shriya Pilgaonkar and Saiyami Kher. The crime thriller has been produced by Thespian Films and KVN Productions. On the other hand, its distrubition is being handled by Pen Marudhar. And while Divakar Mani has worked on the cinemtaography, M. S. Aiyyappan Nair has done the editing.
