Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s much-anticipated romantic drama Love & War, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal, is still months away from hitting
the big screen. However, the ace filmmaker is reportedly planning a special surprise for fans on September 28, which is Ranbir Kapoor’s birthday. Read on to know all about his plans.
Ranbir Kapoor's birthday set to become extra special
According to a report by Mid-Day, Bhansali is preparing to unveil the first visual asset from the film on the actor’s special day. "It will surely be a gift for Ranbir’s fans. Several ideas have been discussed. There is a possibility of either Ranbir’s first look poster or a teaser featuring all three actors being shared with the audience," a source informed the outlet.
The source further added that Bhansali is currently coordinating with the lead actors to finalise dates for the teaser shoot. "This will be the first visual from the film, and Sanjay wants it to evoke curiosity among fans regarding the ambitious romantic drama, which shows Ranbir in an intense role with shades of grey."

Priyanka to have no cameo in Love & War
Meanwhile, speculation had been rife that Priyanka Chopra Jonas would reunite with Bhansali for this project. Fans were hopeful, given their past collaborations on Ram Leela and Bajirao Mastani. However, a source has clarified, "Priyanka Chopra Jonas just happened to post a throwback video of her song Ram Chahe Leela. While Priyanka and Sanjay Leela Bhansali share a great fondness and mutual respect for each other’s work, there is absolutely no truth to the speculation of them collaborating at this point in time."
Love & War is currently being shot in Mumbai, and Bhansali aims to wrap up filming by the end of this year. The official release date has been announced as March 20, 2026, however, several reports suggest delay.
