Alia Bhatt sends prayers, love and strength
Alia Bhatt expressed her concern on Instagram, wrote, "My heart goes out to everyone affected by the floods in Punjab. Sending love, strength and prayers to all those impacted, and gratitude to the people working tirelessly on ground to help. May every family find the support they need to heal and rebuild."
Vicky Kaushal extends support during Punjab flood crisis
Vicky Kaushal also shared his thoughts on Instagram, "Scrolling and seeing all that's happening in Punjab and other regions in the north... villages flooded, people suffering. Praying for all those who are affected. Rabb meher bakshe."
He added, "Kuch Rabb de bande jede pindaach jaa jaa ke madad karde paye aa... onhanu salaam (Salute to those people of God who are going from village to village helping others)."
Vicky further noted, "Figuring and reaching out to do my bit. Affected areas will need long-term help. We stand together in this."

What is the situation in Punjab?
Punjab is facing severe flooding as the Sutlej, Beas, and Ravi rivers have overflowed due to heavy rainfall in their catchment areas in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir. The worst-hit districts include Gurdaspur, Fazilka, Kapurthala, Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, Hoshiarpur, and Amritsar. More than 1,000 villages and over 61,000 hectares of farmland have been severely affected.
As per recent updates, the Char Dham Yatra and Hemkund Sahib pilgrimage have been suspended till September 5.
