Amid the film's success, RJ Balaji took to social media to thank Suriya for the trust and support he extended throughout the project. Sharing a photograph of himself embracing the actor along with a candid video, Balaji reflected on the journey that led to the film's success. "From day ONE, you believed in me. That ONE trust turned a dream into reality. That ONE support became the beginning of a new journey in my life. Booooooooom... Karuppu happened," he wrote.
The filmmaker further added that the film began as a promise he made to Suriya and eventually transformed into a mega-blockbuster. "What started as a promise I made to you became a reality and a mega blockbuster. None of this would have been possible without the one and only Suriya sir," he posted.
