Kangana Ranaut, who had earlier weighed in on Bollywood's stance on the student protests in Mumbai and Delhi, has now slammed celebrities for allegedly
ignoring the ongoing Jharkhand row. The actress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP once again criticised the industry in a recent interview and questioned their "crocodile tears." She said that the Hindi film industry has hypocrisy embedded in its system. She further claimed that they have always had this attitude towards such issues. "Yeh doglapan film industry ka nahi chalega," remarked the actress as she slammed those not "respecting the boundaries of democracy" and allegedly attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Kangana Ranaut On Bollywood Celebs Not Supporting Jharkhand Students
In an interview with ANI, Kangana Ranaut said in Hindi, "This isn't a new issue; the film industry has always held this attitude. You witnessed the attack on Parliament. I have many parliamentarian friends whose cars were climbed upon and whose windows were smashed. Everyone knows this; it is no secret."
She claimed that thousands of people had gathered outside her residence, with some even climbing the gate, leading to a heavy police presence that made it difficult for them to sleep at night. "Yet, when that situation prevailed, they were shedding crocodile tears," said the Queen actress, slamming Bollywood.
She added, "But now, regarding the atrocities being committed against children in Jharkhand, are they not Gen Z? This hypocrisy within the film industry will not do. The people in the film industry who shed crocodile tears over the Jantar Mantar protests ought to shed those same tears for the children in Jharkhand now."

Kangana Ranaut SLAMS Bollywood
Kangana also spoke about the Hindi film industry's alleged obsession with Pakistan. Her comments come ahead of Batwara 1947, the Aamir Khan-backed film based on the Partition. Starring Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi, Ali Fazal and others, the film is set to release in theatres this Friday, August 14.
Before this, Kangana had slammed Naseeruddin Shah over his comments during the student protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. Reacting to Piyush Mishra’s response to the veteran actor, she alleged that Naseer’s sympathies lie with the neighbouring country. "Naseer Saab khaate toh iss desh ka hain lekin laḍte padosi desh keliye hain ( Naseer Saab eats from this country but fights for the neighbouring country)," she said and called him a "lombdi."
Naseeruddin is yet to react to Kangana's remarks.
