Finn Wolfhard was around 13 when he debuted as Mike Wheeler in Netflix series Stranger Things (2016). Almost a decade later, his character is set to stay
put in the last battle against Vecna and Upside Down in the blockbuster show's highly anticipated and emotional finale. Stranger Things season 5 is gearing up for a release in November 2025, and Finn is trying to hold on to the show in its last leg. The actor-musician, who is a core cast member, spoke on how his fellow actors are preparing to bid adieu to a show that went up to become a phenomenon.
Idea of group tattoo and why it failed
In an interview with Variety, Finn said that while a lot of drama, action and tears are in store in the final season, its 10 cast members considered getting a group tattoo before it became a memory. The upcoming season will bring back actors Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Sadie Sink, Noah Schnapp, Caleb McLaughlin, David Harbour, Winona Ryder, Natalia Dyer, Joe Keery, Charlie Heaton and Jamie Campbell Bower, along with Finn.
Finn stated in the interview that while Sadie proposed a flashlight, others wanted "7-15-2016", the date Stranger Things first aired. Finn wished for a tiger depicting the Hawkins school mascot. The 22-year-old said, "No one could agree on what to get because everyone had different storylines, and the show meant different things to different people. Honestly, I think moving forward, we might still do it."
Finn's wish before Stranger Things 5 promotions begin
Ahead of the team kicking off the media promotions, Finn wishes to grow back his hair, which he believes makes him instantly recognisable. "It was my ‘V for Vendetta’ moment — and just as powerful. My fan base is predominantly girls that are younger teenagers to my age, and it became this collective ‘No!’ I really did not expect for people to care as much. But hair grows back, apparently," he said in the interview.
