prompted a larger conversation around its sequel. On the very day the teaser of Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge dropped online, reports began circulating about a major shift in the film’s OTT partner. A new report has now confirmed the development and it turns out the numbers which made the deal possible are staggering.
Dhurandhar 2 Rights Sold For Huge Amount
As per a report in Bollywood Hungama, the digital rights of Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge have been sold for a whopping Rs 150 crore, making it one of the biggest OTT transactions in recent times. Interestingly, the deal is significantly different from the pre-release negotiations of the first film.
What Netflix Initially Offered For Both Dhurandhar Films
An industry source told the publication that Netflix had initially offered Rs 175 crore to acquire the streaming rights of both Dhurandhar films together, even before the first part hit theatres However, Jio Studios chose to wait and now the decision has paid off handsomely. While the first film’s digital rights were sold for Rs 85 crore, the second installment alone has now fetched nearly double that amount.
The insider also revealed that streaming platforms have largely been cautious with big-ticket acquisitions in recent months. But the massive theatrical success of Dhurandhar and sustained audience demand compelled platforms to loosen their purse strings for the sequel.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge will continue the story of Hamza Ali Mazari, played by Ranveer Singh, charting his rise to power following the death of Rehman Dakait (Akshaye Khanna) in the first film. The sequel also features an ensemble cast including Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, Rakesh Bedi, and Sara Arjun. The film is slated for a theatrical release on March 19, 2026, with its OTT premiere reportedly expected on Jio Hotstar in the second week of May 2026.
