BTS is set to take over Netflix. If the K-pop icon’s comeback wasn’t enough, now their global fandom will get to see the big return in real time on the streaming
giant. Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook are set to enter our living rooms, and the massive news has now blown up the internet after Netflix revealed its plan of airing BTS’ comeback performance and a special documentary to 190 countries, leaving ARMYs screaming. The announcement of BTS The Comeback Live | Arirang and BTS: The Return documentary comes as the band of seven gears up to return to active music with a new album ARIRANG on March 20, followed by a world tour in April 2026. For those who are unable to procure tickets to the upcoming concerts, BTS will be holding a free performance at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul.
BTS X Netflix announced
On February 3, Netflix posted an announcement that broke the social media. It revealed that it would stream BTS’ comeback show and release a documentary chronicling the K-pop supergroup’s return to the music scene after a break from group activities due to the members’ military enlistment. Confirming the live streaming of the septet’s performance at the historic Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul, it even revealed the date of release of the documentary on March 27.

ARMYs have meltdown
ARMYs flooded X (formerly Twitter) with reactions. One fan wrote, “Wow, it looks like Gwanghwamun in Seoul is going to become the hottest place in the world in March 2026.
I’m honestly thrilled that it’s going to be livestreamed worldwide on Netflix. What an amazing era we’re living in. The power of platforms is truly incredible.” Another one said, “The comeback will be legendary.”
A comment read, “The way I have never loved Netflix more than in this moment, we will get stable video & clear audio, no weverse black screen of death.” A second one stated, “This is going to be epic! BTS x Netflix Netflix is taking this to the next level.”
About BTS show at Gwanghwamun Square
The free show at Gwanghwamun Square is part of the group’s comeback, and the septet's fifth studio album ARIRANG is their first group release in four years following a hiatus to pursue their solo careers and fulfill mandatory military service. As per reports, Gwanghwamun is set to draw over 200,000 fans worldwide, marking an unprecedented milestone in South Korea and the global K-pop scene. This will be one of the largest concerts globally in recent years, showcasing BTS' incredible international impact and scale.
BigHit Music confirmed the documentary too, which will have BTS taking the stage at 8 PM (Korean time) on March 21 for BTS The Comeback Live: Arirang, a special show scheduled a day after the release of ARIRANG.
BTS: The Return Documentary
BTS: The Return is touted to be an “intimate documentary film chronicling BTS' reunion and the making of the band’s new album,” according to a release. It has been directed by Bao Nguyen, best known for The Greatest Night in Pop. Its premiere, a week after the live stream on March 27 on the streaming platform, will give the documentary ample time to build curiosity and anticipation.
