What is the story about?
Bobby Deol's famous show, Aashram, is returning with its fourth season. Directed by Prakash Jha, the new season went on floors today (August 22). Aashram's
third season released in two parts. Aashram brought Bobby to the OTT space and marked the beginning of his new innings as an actor. The franchise can be watched on Amazon MX Player. The makers of Aashram 4 announced the commencement of season four through social media. Bobby and the original cast of the show will reprise their roles and take the story forward.
Aashram 4 goes on floors
Aashram 4 will feature Bobby Deol as Baba Nirala. Aaditi Pohankar returns as Parminder 'Pammi' Lochan, Chandan Roy Sanyal will be back as Bhupendra 'Bhopa Swami', Tridha Choudhury will feature as Babita whereas Sachin Shroff, Neetu Chandra Srivastava, Chaitannya Choudhry, Parinitaa Seth, and Pankhuri Gidwani will be playing important roles in the upcoming show.
What is the Aashram series?
Aashram started in 2020. The show follows the dark empire of Kashipur waale Baba Nirala, a charismatic godman revered as a messiah by marginalised communities, but who secretly operates a criminal nexus of exploitation, political corruption, and crime.
Aashram season 3 part 2 ending explained
The second part of the third season ended with Baba Nirala getting intimate with Pammi in his room. She installs a camera in the room to prove that the fake Baba is not castrated. He is proven guilty and gets life imprisonment with a Rs 30 lakh fine as a punishment. Following his arrest, Bhopa Swami becomes the new Bhagwan of the aashram. He takes over Baba Nirala with the name Baba Mansukh.
Aashram season 4 release date
The premiere date of Aashram 4 has not been revealed officially. It is expected to have a late 2027 or early 2028 release.
Aashram season 3 cast fees
For Aashram 3, Bobby was reportedly paid between Rs 1 crore and Rs 4 crore. Aaditi Pohankar's fee was between Rs 12 lakhs and Rs 20 lakhs. Chandan Roy Sanyal reportedly took home Rs 15 lakhs to Rs 25 lakhs. Tridha Choudhary was said to be paid Rs 4 lakhs to Rs 10 lakhs.
Aashram controversy
In 2021, a major controversy sparked as Bobby's portrayal of a manipulative godman faced major backlash for allegedly hurting Hindu religious sentiments, defaming traditional ashrams, and mishandling caste dynamics. During the filming of season 3, members of the Bajrang Dal attacked the production crew's vehicles and threw ink at director Prakash Jha.
