Asha Bhosle and Kishore Kumar's collaboration spanned from the 1950s till the latter's passing in 1987. The two had crooned approximately 687 Hindi duets
marking one of the most prolific partnerships in Indian cinema. Thus it is not uncommon for the singer to have had close ties with the singer's family, including son Amit Kumar. Earlier today, Amit Kumar Ganguly took to X, formerly Twitter, to share a post mourning the loss of the singer, while highlighting the close bond they shared. Taking to X, Amit Kumar revealed it was Asha Bhosle who guided him after his father's untimely demise, writing, "After my father, the one who taught me how to deliver behind a mic is gone forever." He also went on to reveal, "My first duet with a female artist was with her, from the movie Zindagi Aur Toofan, recorded in 1974." Amit Kumar ended his post, writing, "Asha ji, your guidance and presence meant so much to me. Om Shaanti. See you on the other side." The singer also shared a couple of photos with the late singer, including one where the two can be singing a duet onstage, and another where he shared the space with her and his late father Kishore Kumar. For the unversed, Asha Bhosle and Kishore Kumar's first duet was Main Bengali Chokra from the 1950 film Raagini, while their final song was Guru Guru from the 1988 Waqt Ki Awaz. Meanwhile, Asha Bhosle and Amit Kumar have collaborated on numerous popular Bollywood and Bengali duets throughout the late 1970s, 1980s. The two have given hits Yun Toh Haseen Hazar (1981), Dushman Na Kare (1985), and Roz Roz Ankhon (1986). Meanwhile, Asha Bhosle's last rites are underway in Mumbai. A number of celebrities were seen paying their respects to the departed singer. Cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar, along with his wife Anjali Tendulkar, visited Asha Bhosle’s residence in Mumbai to pay their final respects, while actor Riteish Deshmukh too was seen. Actor Tabu got emotional as she arrived to pay tribute to the singer, while music maestro AR Rahman too was seen at the residence of legendary singer Asha Bhosle in Mumbai to pay his last respects. Asha Bhosle had been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital on Saturday evening following extreme exhaustion and a chest infection. She breathed her last on Sunday, April 12. The singer's son Anand Bhosle had confirmed the news of her death to media.
