What's the update on Jana Nayagan?
Meanwhile, Vijay’s much-anticipated final film Jana Nayagan, directed by H Vinoth, continues to face delays with no official release date announced. The film missed its planned January 9 release because of delays in CBFC certification. The issue began when the CBFC called denied certification as the film featured sensitive content related to religion and the army.Later the regional panel had suggested a UA 16+ certificate, but final approval was held up. KVN Productions then approached the Madras High Court to speed up the process. However, a division bench later stayed the earlier order. In February 2026, the producers withdrew the case and resubmitted the film through the usual CBFC process. Production house KVN Productions has now taken full control of the release process after refunding distributor advances. The film co-stars Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, and Prakash Raj.
