Straw Hats, get ready to sail on another adventure! Netflix's One Piece has been renewed for Season 3 and the eagerly awaited second season will be premiering
in 2026. To celebrate the epic news, the streamer released a first-look video of Season 2 that was shared at the annual One Piece Day celebration in Tokyo, Japan, this weekend. One Piece is based on Japan’s highest-selling manga series of all time by Eiichiro Oda. Here's all you need to know about the upcoming seasons.
One Piece renewed for Season 3
The official account of One Piece on X (formerly Twitter) wrote, "A new dawn is approaching, Straw Hats! The Grand Line is no place for the faint of heart. Brace yourselves, ONE PIECE: INTO THE GRAND LINE sets sail in 2026! And looks like Season 3 production is kicking off soon..."
The first-look teaser shows our fearless hero, the young pirate named Monkey D Luffy (Iñaki Godoy) as he sails the seas with his Straw Hats crew with swordsman Roronoa Zoro (Mackenyu), cartographer Nami (Emily Rudd), storyteller Usopp (Jacob Romero), and chef Sanji (Taz Skylar). Luffy's greatest wish is to become the King of the Pirates by finding infamous pirate Gold Roger’s (Michael Dorman) mysterious treasure, the One Piece. In Season 2, the Straw Hats set sail on the Grand Line and several iconic characters are introduced.

Season 3 will begin filming in Cape Town, South Africa, later this year. Executive producer Ian Stokes will be the new co-showrunner with Joe Tracz on the new season. Matt Owens, who was the executive producer and co-showrunner on Seasons 1 and 2, left the project in March 2025. Tracz joined the show in Season 2 and has been overseeing the show through post-production after Owens’s exit.
