What is the story about?
Kareena Kapoor Khan joined forces with Prithviraj Sukumaran for the first time for Daayra. For a week, the makers had been unveiling different promotional
assets for this project. A few days ago, Kareena was introduced as DCP Ajooni Kohli, while her co-star Prithviraj plays DCP Raman Kumar. Their fierce first looks left fans excited for the trailer. As promised earlier, the makers have finally dropped the trailer of Daayra, directed by Meghna Gulzar. It gives audiences a sneak peek into the world of Daayra, leaving them curious to know more about the storyline.
Daayra Trailer Is Out Now
The official trailer of Daayra was shared on YouTube with a text that read: "Inspired by true events, Daayra is a gripping crime thriller that follows DCP Raman Kumar and DCP Ajooni Kohli as a case places them on opposing sides of the same system."
For those unaware, Daayra marks Meghna's reunion with Junglee Pictures after successful movies like Talvar and Raazi. While Talvar featured late Irrfan Khan and Tabu, Raazi starred Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal in lead roles. Coming back to Daayra, the film is an investigative drama wirtten by Meghna, Sima Agarwal and Yash Keswani. Saurabh Goswami is the cinematographer of the movie, while Charu Shree Roy has done the editing work.
On the other hand, the movie has been backed by Junglee Pictures and Pen Studios. This project marks Kareena and Prithviraj's first collaboration with director Meghna.
Prithviraj Sukumaran On Working With Meghna Gulzar
Earlier, in an official statement, Prithviraj had shared his experience of woking with filmmaker. "I had so much fun working with Meghna – I don’t think I’ve argued so much with any filmmaker. She is an incredible filmmaker. She is just a lovely person and a great filmmaker. And I'm so thankful she thought I should do that film," he said.
The actor added that Meghna has done fabulous job on this movie. According to him, Daayra asks a lot of disturbing questions but it doesn't answer them for the audiences. "It’s a film that needs to have a very objective take on justice and the deliverance of justice in our system," he added.
