Akshay Kumar teases title of his next film with Anees Bazmee
With a new film, Haiwaan, releasing on September 11, 2026, Akshay Kumar has double the reason to celebrate on his 59th birthday. But as he shared congratulatory messages from the film industry on Instagram, the actor also dropped major hints about his next film in which he reunites with Anees Bazmee. The upcoming film also features Vidya Balan and Raashii Khanna.
After the Welcome director praised Akshay for his dedication, discipline and passion for cinema while wishing him a Happy Birthday, the actor wrote back, "Working on your sets, there's only one feeling that comes to mind... Maujah Hi Maujah! So excited for everything that's still to come."
Meanwhile, Vidya and Raashii shared a fun Reel of the trio dancing next to a private aeroplane as they wished for "more dance, more mischief, more you," in the coming year and called him 'Acche Sir'. Thanking the ladies, Akshay replied, "Clearly, we don't care where we are as long as there's some Maujah Hi Maujah!" Using the same words for both his director and leading ladies, Akshay is clearly dropping clues that the untitled film will likely be called Maujah Hi Maujah.
Akshay Kumar's upcoming projects
In 2026, Akshay was seen in Bhooth Bangla and Welcome to the Jungle and is awaiting the release of Priyadarshan's Haiwaan co-starring Saif Ali Khan. His upcoming films include the Marathi film Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat, in which he plays Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, and the films Golmaal 5 and the sci-fi thriller Samuk with Viineet Kumar Siingh.
The Anees Bazmee film, which might be called Maujah Hi Maujah, also co-stars Vijay Raaz and Sudesh Lehri. The film, which was filmed in Keralam, is co-produced by Sri Venkateswara Creations and Cape of Good Films. It will be released in theatres on December 4, 2026.
