Besides Independence titles, this upcoming holiday weekend brings several genre titles to choose from on OTT. First up, the mystery film The Drop premieres
on JioHotstar on August 11. Starring Meghann Fahy and Brandon Sklenar, the thriller revolves around a dangerous first date. On August 13, Amazon Prime Video's spy series Butterfly has Daniel Dae Kim as a former US intelligence operative in South Korea who is hunted down by Rebecca (Reina Hardesty), a deadly, sociopathic young agent assigned to kill him. Also on August 13 is Netflix's Fixed, an adult animated comedy about a dog voiced by Adam DeVine who has 24 hours before he is going to be neutered. Another show on the same day is TVF's Court Kacheri, a courtroom comedy about a father-son story starring Ashish Verma and Pavan Malhotra on SonyLIV. Lastly, on August 15, Vanessa Kirby stars in Netflix's crime drama Night Always Comes as a woman who's desperate to raise some quick cash.

About the series: This prequel series to Ridley Scott's 1978 Alien film has been created by Fargo's Noah Hawley. The Alien franchise brings the iconic Xenomorph to the series, which fans have been waiting for.
