Jana Nayagan, starring Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay was released on July 23, 2026, on a grand scale. But now, the political action drama has
been struggling to mint numbers at the box office during weekdays. After suffering a major drop in collections on Monday and Tuesday, Jana Nayagan couldn’t manage to improve, as the numbers dropped miserably for the third consecutive day. Apart from that, the H Vinoth-directed film failed to cross the Rs 150 crore mark on day 7 in India. In fact, the occupancy level is also decreasing with each passing day.
Jana Nayagan Box Office Day 7 Report
According to a Sacnilk report, Jana Nayagan, which marks Thalapathy Vijay’s last film as an actor, earned only Rs 6.10 crore on day 7. On Wednesday, the film received a lukewarm response from the audience, due to which the collections saw a 23.8 per cent drop from Tuesday’s net collection of Rs 8 crore. The film ran in theatres on Wednesday with 15.7 per cent occupancy.
After day 7, Jana Nayagan managed to mint Rs 149.50 crore at the box office. It couldn’t cross the Rs 150 crore mark after a week. As far as its worldwide collections are concerned, the film earned Rs 2.50 crore in the global market on Wednesday. This pushed the worldwide gross collection of Jana Nayagan to Rs 255.63 crore.
For the unversed, Vijay’s Jana Nayagan started its box office run on a strong note. In its first extended weekend, the Vijay starrer collected Rs 124.75 crore in India. After that, the collections started falling drastically during the weekdays.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day has been released in theatres today (July 30), and as expected, it is getting a solid response from the masses in India. The Marvel film is expected to create history at the box office in India. After its release, Jana Nayagan is likely to struggle at the box office.
