What is the story about?
Kangana Ranaut is no stranger to making bold statements on culture, tradition, and gender dynamics, and her latest remarks on the institution of marriage
are no exception. Known for her outspoken views on social issues, the Queen and Manikarnika actor has often engaged in discussions around the balance between modern values and traditional practices. This time, she has taken a firm stand in defence of marriage, calling it a tradition designed in favour of women that has served an important purpose for centuries.
Kangana Ranaut calls marriage 'woman-friendly'
Speaking to Hauterrfly, Kangana shared her perspective on why she believes marriage was designed to benefit women and why it remains relevant in today’s world. "Humare sanskar hote hain, prathayein hoti hain, wo sab woman-friendly hain (We have traditions and customs, and all of them are woman-friendly)," she said, pointing out that cultural norms, in her view, are meant to protect women’s interests. "Chaahe aap aajkal ke woman ko modern world kitna bhi brainwash kare, ye sab woman-friendly hain. Hum zyada isko bolenge to men will get alerted."
(No matter how much the modern world tries to brainwash today’s women. If we talk about it too much, men will get alerted, these are all woman-friendly.)

Kangana says marriage was made to get men to commit
Elaborating on the origins of marriage, Kangana explained, "Logon ne dekha hoga ki men are hunters, they can impregnate any woman, then run away. Ek hi baby hai existence me jisko saalo saal tak paalna padta hai. Human baby is like a patient."
(People must have noticed that men are hunters, they can impregnate any woman and then leave. A human baby is the only one in existence that has to be raised for years. A human baby is like a patient.)
Adding to that, she called marriage a good thing by saying, "Ye jo pratha bani hai ki Father ke saamne kiss kare ya qubool hai bole, it is essentially a vow, a commitment, jo poore duniya ko bula ke uss purush se karayi jaa rahi hai. It is woman-friendly. It is a good thing, marriage is very important.”
(This tradition of kissing in front of the Father or saying ‘I accept’ is essentially a vow, a commitment that is being taken from that man in front of the whole world. It is woman-friendly. It is a good thing, marriage is very important.)
Her comments show her belief that marriage was historically designed to ensure stability and protection for women and children.
