Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinta starrer Lakshya has completed 22 years since its theatrical release. The film became a major hit. Directed by Farhan Akhtar,
it was released on June 18, in the year 2004. His production banner, Excel Entertainment, has shared a social media post celebrating the milestone. The video took fans back to the nostalgic era and to musical gems that they still cherish. Lakshya’s success can also be credited to its genre; the film revolved around a war-drama story that was prevalent at that time. It simply stood out because of Hrithik’s character transformation.
Lakshya Celebrates 22 Years of Legacy
Farhan celebrated the anniversary by reposting a video on his Instagram story.The Instagram post that the makers shared brought a moment of reminiscence for all. The video montage featured various scenes from the movie that fans remember to date. Its iconic theme song, titled Lakshya, was used as the background in the post.

About Lakshya
The film is a war drama based on a boy, Karan Shergill (Hrithik Roshan), who has no direction in life. He then joins the army, but unable to follow the strict and disciplined lifestyle, he deserts the role. This causes a rift between him and his girlfriend, Romi Dutta (Preity Zinta). Later, he transforms and leads his team through the Kargil War as a Captain. Their paths cross once again, as his ex-lover is a journalist who is covering the war.The film became a hit for its blend of patriotism, personal growth driven by love and emotions.
The ensemble cast includes Hrithik Roshan, Preity Zinta, Amitabh Bachchan, Boman Irani, Om Puri, and Sushant Singh.
Director Farhan Akhtar also wrote the lyrics for its famous songs with composer Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.
