Legendary playback singer Asha Bhosle’s funeral is set to take place in Mumbai today. The (antim darshan) final journey began with the singer’s mortal
remains being wrapped in the tricolour. Family members, celebrities, and fans gathered at the legendary singer’s Worli residence to pay their last respects. Cricket star Sachin Tendulkar was among the first public figures to arrive. Accompanied by his wife, he offered his heartfelt condolences to the grieving family. Asha Tai’s granddaughter, Zanai Bhosle, greeted the Tendulkars with a hug. She looked visibly emotional as she tried to hold back her tears. Zanai was the first family member to share an update on Asha Tai’s health. Amid reports of her hospitalisation, she tweeted on Saturday that her grandmother had been admitted due to extreme exhaustion and a chest infection. Her tweet read: "My grandmother, Asha Bhosle due to extreme exhaustion and suffering a chest infection has been admitted to hospital and we request you to value our privacy. Treatment is ongoing and hopefully everything will be well and we shall update you positively."
The young singer often shared memorable glimpses with her legendary grandmother on social media.
