What is the story about?
Pankaj Tripathi has made us smile and cry with his relatable and human characters. From playing hilarious supporting characters to father figures, he knows
how to move audiences. However, the veteran actor is now done with such feel-good roles. He wants to take on more challenging and darker parts. In a recent interview, the Stree 2 actor revealed that he misses playing villains. He also expressed his wish to portray a brutal antagonist on screen and said he is exploring such projects.
Pankaj Tripathi Wants To Play Brutal Villain
In a chat with Times of India, Pankaj Tripathi said, "Now I want to do fantasy and comedy. It’s been too many years since I played a villain. I even called Amar Kaushik (Stree, Bala, Bhediya) and told him, ‘If you have a script like that, give me a brutal villain’s role.’ I want to play a deadly villain. Bohot ho gaya playing slice-of-life characters."
He added that Sultan from Gangs of Wasseypur is still his favourite villain.
Currently, the veteran actor is carefully choosing stories that match his taste. He said that he prefers films that focus on real people and everyday experiences instead of larger-than-life characters. According to him, ordinary people, especially middle-class parents, can be heroes in their own way. Tripathi also revealed that he wants to move away from the realistic roles he has often played and try something fresh and different in the next phase of his career.
