Vikrant Massey, fresh from the success of his recent projects and his National Film Award win for Best Actor, is all set to enter a new phase in his career.
In an exclusive conversation with Times Now Group Editor-in-Chief Navika Kumar, the actor revealed that he is taking a leap into a territory he has never explored before - a glamorous Dharma Productions film.
Vikrant Massey CONFIRMS Dostana 2
Opening up about his upcoming role, Massey shared, “You you will see me doing that soon. I think this news is already out. I don’t know why I’m not talking. I’m doing Dostana 2. I’m doing my first Dharma movie.”
The actor, who is often praised for his earthy, grounded characters, admitted that this project will present him in a completely new avatar. He explained, “Usme you will see me wearing good designer clothes. Karan (Johar) sir will make sure that I have wear good clothes and I wear those fancy sunglasses. Shooting somewhere in Europe.”

Who is the Desi Girl in Dostana 2?
Naturally, the conversation turned toward the much-anticipated casting of Dostana 2. When asked who his Desi Girl is in the film, Massey kept the suspense alive. He said, “I think wo main nahi bolunga. Wo Karan sir hi bolenge toh behtar hai. Uski bhi toh badi announcement hai.” (I won't reveal that, Karan sir will say as it is a big announcement)
However, he did confirm his male co-star. “Lakshya is a part of the movie. But let the girl be a surprise,” he revealed, hinting at a big announcement in the coming months.
According to earlier media reports, the film will introduce a debutant female lead opposite Massey and Lakshya. The makers are reportedly eyeing a January 2026 start for the shoot, with a grand theatrical release scheduled toward the end of the same year.
Interestingly, Dostana 2 has been in the news for years. The project originally had Kartik Aaryan and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead along with Lakshya who was supposed to debut with the film, but the casting eventually went through a complete change. With Massey and Lakshya now officially onboard, Dharma Productions seems ready to revive the much-awaited sequel.
