Tere Naam is one of the best films in Salman Khan's filmography! Featuring Salman and Bhumika Chawla, the romantic drama was theatrically released in 2003.
22 years later, Sajid Nadiadwala is reportedly planning to work on Tere Naam sequel. The first installment was directed by the late Satish Kaushik. While Tere Naam 2's idea popped in 2020, producer Sajid is apparently in advanced talks now to acquire franchise rights. The rights are currently with Tere Naam's original producers, Sunil Manchanda and Mukesh Talreja.
Tere Naam sequel in works?
With Tere Naam sequel, Sajid reportedly plans to bring Salman. He played the lead role role in the original. A source informed Mid-Day that a fresh pairing might be cast, depending on whether Salman takes on the OG or a new avatar. "Once the legal and financial packaging is done, they’ll lock in Salman and only then announce a director. A tentative script is being worked upon," the source added.
At present, the discussions are apparently in full swing and Sajid might want to 'own the IP for creative freedom'. The report suggests that the makers intend to position Tere Naam sequel as legacy revival and tie nostalgia with contemporary sensibilities.
