What is the story about?
Ranveer Singh and Aditya Dhar have done it again! Dhurandhar: The Revenge, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2025 mega blockbuster Dhurandhar, released
in theatres on March 19, 2026, and has already taken the box office by storm. It has beaten the likes of Pushpa 2 and Jawan to set all-time opening weekend records at the Hindi box office. With audiences packing cinema halls across the country, fans who prefer watching films at home are naturally eager to know when and where the film will be available to stream online. Here is everything you need to know.
Dhurandhar 2 To Stream On JioHotstar
Dhurandhar: The Revenge has been confirmed to stream exclusively on JioHotstar after completing its theatrical run. This marks a notable change from the first film, which had premiered on Netflix and enjoyed strong digital viewership.
The OTT deal for the sequel is a significant one. JioHotstar has reportedly secured the streaming rights for a massive Rs 150 crore, making it one of the biggest digital deals in recent times. For context, the first Dhurandhar was said to be sold to Netflix for Rs 85 crore, making the jump to Rs 150 crore for Part 2 a remarkable increase, driven entirely by the franchise's explosive theatrical success.
As for the exact OTT release date, the makers have not made an official announcement yet. After its theatrical run, the film is likely to arrive on JioHotstar by May end, though this has not been confirmed by the producers. Following the standard industry practice, big theatrical releases usually arrive on streaming platforms after a 45 to 60-day window. The film will also subsequently air on television via Star Gold.
Dhurandhar 2 Smashes Opening Weekend Records At Hindi Box Office
The reason OTT platforms were willing to pay such a premium for streaming rights becomes very clear when you look at the box office numbers. Dhurandhar: The Revenge has rewritten the record books in its very first weekend.
The film became the first in Indian cinema history to record back-to-back Rs 100 crore-plus single-day net collections, achieving this feat on both Day 3 and Day 4. The four-day India net collection stood at Rs 466 crore, while the worldwide gross reached Rs 761 crore, all of this without a single rupee coming in from the GCC region.
Trade experts believe it is possible for Dhurandhar 2 to cross the Rs 1,000 crore mark in its opening week, a feat that even Pushpa 2: The Rule could not achieve. If that milestone is reached, it would mark a historic moment for Hindi cinema.
