Ever since updates about Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana started surfacing online, fans got super excited about the film. They were curious about every little
detail of the film including the star cast - which further heightened the buzz around the movie. It willl see Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Mata Sita and Yash as Ravana, while Sunny Deol will be essaying Lord Hanuman in the film. Updates around the film has been making their way to the internet for some time now, and we've also got an important information related to the film's shoot. As per fresh update, Sunny Deol's shoot schedule for the movie will start next in next month.
Sunny Deol busy with shooting of actioner ft Vijay Varma, Jhothika
According to a report in Mid-Day, the Border 2 star has a packed schedule in the first half of the year. In early March, Sunny Deol began work on his next, an untitled action thriller backed by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, with filming underway at Film City. Directed by Balaji Ganesh, the film has nearly completed its first schedule and also features Jyotika and Vijay Varma. The project is a full-on action entertainer, with Sunny playing a cop in a rugged new look, complete with a moustache and beard.
Over the past few weeks, the team has shot extensively across Mumbai. The schedule began with a high-energy action sequence between Sunny and Vijay on a specially constructed carnival set at Film City. This was followed by shoots at a bungalow in Bandra, a college near Churchgate, and later at the Marol Police Camp in Andheri East.
Meanwhile, Sunny also announced his Netflix courtroom drama Ikka, which features Akshaye Khanna in a key role. He will also be seen in Lahore 1947.
When will Sunny Deol begin shoot for Ramayana?
As per the report, once this leg wraps on March 30, Sunny will shift focus to Ramayana: Part 2, directed by Nitesh Tiwari. He is expected to finish his portions as Hanuman by the end of April before returning to the cop drama, with the next schedule planned in Goa. The film is aiming for completion by July.Earlier, on the ocassion of Ram Navami, Ramayana producer Namit Malhotra shared a post in which he revealed an important update. In his post on Instagram, Namit extended wishes on Ram Navami, saying the story belongs to everyone and has been shaped with a strong sense of responsibility, devotion and care to present Ramayana with honesty and scale.
He also shared that the next glimpse, titled Rama, will be unveiled on April 2 on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti, marking a global reveal of years of work. He thanked audiences for their continued love, faith and patience.
As for the theatrical release, Ramayana Part One will be hitting the big screens on this Diwali, while the second chapter will release on Diwali 2027.
