Aamir Khan is all set to make a cameo appearance in Rajinikanth's upcoming film Coolie, helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The Sitaare Zameen Par star also attended
the film's trailer launch event in Chennai. Recently, a report suggested that Aamir had made a direct call to PVR-Inox, seeking premium showcasing ahead of the War 2 clash. However, a spokesperson has refuted the reports and claimed that he didn't make any calls to any exhibitor.
Aamir Khan Productions refute reports of making calls to exhibitors amid War 2 clash in North
In a statement, spokesperson of Aamir Khan Productions clarified, "Neither Aamir Khan, nor anyone from his team is involved in the distribution of Coolie. Mr Khan has not made any calls to any exhibitor or distributor. His cameo in the film is purely a gesture of his bond with director Lokesh Kanagaraj and Rajinikanth. Everyone at AKP, especially Aamir Khan, is thrilled with the success of Sitaare Zameen Par’s YouTube release and is overjoyed with the response it has received."

Reports of Aamir Khan making calls to distributors for Coolie surfaced online
It was previously reported that Aamir Khan had unexpectedly jumped into the release strategy for Coolie (Hindi), despite only doing a free, extended cameo in the Rajinikanth-led film. A report suggested that he directly called PVR-Inox head honcho Ajay Bijli, insisting on prime screen space for Coolie nationwide. The report further suggested that he even pushed for a North India-specific marketing alliance between the multiplex giant and Sun Pictures. The sudden interference has left the PVR-Inox camp shocked. “Aamir has no financial investment in the film. This was totally unexpected,” a source told Bollywood Hungama.The report came at a time when Rajinikanth's Coolie is at loggerheads with YRF’s War 2, featuring Hrithik Roshan, NTR Jr., and Kiara Advani.
However, the recent statement by Aamir Khan Productions refutes the report, and it seems Coolie and War 2 are up for a healthy competition at the box office on August 14, 2025.
