Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the death of veteran actor Nana Patekar, remembering him as an artist whose intensity, individuality
and unmistakable screen presence made him one of Indian cinema’s most distinctive performers. Patekar died on October 8 at the age of 75, after suffering a cardiac arrest in his home. Taking to X, formerly Twitter, PM Modi paid tribute to Nana Patekar and highlighted his immense contribution to both Hindi and Marathi cinema. He also remembered Patekar for his versatility, creativity and the memorable characters he brought to life over a career spanning several decades. “Few actors possessed the intensity, individuality and unmistakable presence that Shri Nana Patekar Ji had,” PM Modi wrote. He added that the actor “brought remarkable versatility and creativity to every role” and created characters that would continue to be remembered by audiences for generations.
