What is the story about?
HBO’s hit drama Euphoria has officially come to an end after three seasons and seven years. Creator Sam Levinson confirmed that the Zendaya-led series
will not continue beyond Season 3, making the finale episode, “In God We Trust,” the show’s last chapter. The announcement follows years of speculation surrounding the future of the Emmy-winning drama, especially after long production delays and the cast’s increasingly busy Hollywood schedules. Starring Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, and Alexa Demie, Euphoria became one of HBO’s most talked-about series for its intense storytelling.
Euphoria ends with Season 3
Sam Levinson, the HBO show Euphoria's creator, writer and director told Popcast, New York Times’ music podcast that the show will end with Season 3. The announcement hardly shocked fans, especially after Zendaya previously hinted in interviews that Euphoria could conclude with Season 3. Speculation about the show’s future had been circulating for years, particularly because nearly four years passed between the second and third seasons. During that period, Zendaya and several cast members evolved into major Hollywood stars with increasingly packed schedules, leading to repeated production setbacks.
Sam also appeared uncertain about continuing the HBO drama further. In an interview with The New York Times, the creator explained that he approaches “every season like it’s the last.” When questioned about the possibility of another installment, Levinson admitted, “I don’t know. As of right now, all I want to do is hang out with my wife and kids and read some Elmore Leonard and watch Mrs. Miniver again.”
