during the fourth and final night of BTS’ Los Angeles concert, fans marked the special occasion in advance with a heartfelt surprise project for RM. The celebration came as the group wrapped up their LA concert run, giving the BTS leader an unexpected early birthday moment surrounded by fans. Touched by the gesture and the energy inside the venue, RM opened up about how precious these shared experiences have become. He also thanked ARMYs for creating memories he hopes they will carry with them forever.
RM Gets Emotional Over Early Birthday Celebration
RM’s birthday falls on September 12, but ARMYs made sure the BTS leader did not have to wait until the actual date to feel the love. During BTS’ fourth and final Los Angeles concert, fans surprised RM with an advance birthday celebration, turning the final night into an especially memorable one for the group’s leader. The fans hold signs where "Happy Birthday Namjoon" was written. On the other hand, the ARMYs and members sang happy birthday to him while Suga placed a crown on his head.
Reacting to the early birthday wishes, RM first pointed out that his birthday was still five days away. He also joked about being the only member whose birthday was not being celebrated while the group was on tour. “Thank you, my birthday is five days later but anyways, thank you so much,” RM said, before admitting that he was sad he would not be able to spend his actual birthday with ARMY.

He then added that having ARMY with him at that moment made the early celebration feel incredibly special. “But I got you right now, so this is my happiest birthday ever, thank you so much!” he said. The members also joined in on the celebration, enthusiastically wishing RM and jokingly chanting birthday greetings. RM appeared amused as he tried to make sense of the playful messages, including “birthday punch” and “birthday bread.” Meanwhile, RM has also celebrated his birthday with members and staff before the show.

RM Calls Concerts With ARMY ‘So Precious’
Later, RM aka Namjoon became more reflective as he spoke about what the concert and the connection with ARMY meant to him. Thanking fans for celebrating his birthday early, the BTS leader said that genuine emotions, truth and heartfelt human connections can feel increasingly difficult to find in a world where so much can be done through the “small machine” in our hands. For RM, that made being together with ARMY in the same space even more meaningful.
He explained that the tour, the stage and the concert felt “so, so precious” because he could genuinely feel that everyone was living and sharing the moment together. Seeing fans’ faces, hearing their words and watching them jump, dance and sing allowed him to experience a kind of connection that cannot simply be recreated through a screen.

RM also asked fans not to forget the night, stressing how important it was to preserve the memory of being together.
He reflected on how difficult it can sometimes feel to connect with people in real life, making the shared experience inside the concert venue even more precious. Rather than letting the memory fade, RM hoped that he and ARMY could carry the feeling of that night with them wherever they were. Meanwhile, BTS has officially concluded its North American tour and is now set to take the tour to South America. The group will begin the next leg with back-to-back shows in Bogotá, Colombia, on October 2 and 3 at Estadio El Campín.
