What is the story about?
The promotion for Nelson Dilipkumar's Jailer 2 is slightly different this time around. South superstar Rajinikanth will forgo the grand audio launch ahead
of the premiere of the film. A new report shares that the veteran actor will conduct a rare three-hour television interview on Sun TV on October 11. The in-depth interview will come just four days before the release of the Tamil action sequel, which sees the star take on the role of Muthuvel Pandian, aka Tiger, once again. Jailer 2's music was launched at a special fan event with composer Anirudh Ravichander and other singers.
Rajinikanth to conduct a rare 3-hour TV interview on October 11
According to a report in India Today, Rajinikanth will sit down for a special interview on Sun TV from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm. The October 11 interview will be the sequel's biggest promotional event, which will be available to its target audience right at their homes. Jailer 2 is releasing in theatres on October 15.
The veteran actor has not given such a long interview in recent years. The last time he gave a longer TV interview was for Shankar's 2.0 in 2018. Instead, Ranjikanth's public promotional events have been with audio launches and some media interviews at airports when he is travelling.
Jailer 2 will skip audio launch
Usually, fans look forward to catching the Tamil superstar at the audio launches for his film albums. There, anecdotes about the making of the projects, the actor's quotes and, of course, live performances of the songs are always a hit with audiences. This time, the music of Jailer 2 was released rather privately.
The songs and music were unveiled at Jailer 2 RAVE, a special event for selected fans. The award-winning composer Anirudh Ravichander and the singers on the Jailer 2 soundrack sang the hit songs such as Ala Bolelo, Bindaas and One Sun One Moon from the upcoming film. This is Anirudh's fifth collaboration with director Nelson and sixth with superstar Rajinikanth.
