The second season of Netflix's biggest English series, Wednesday , was split into two, with the final episodes releasing on September 3. As fans have binged
through all eight episodes, they want to know more about Season 3. Thankfully, Netflix renewed the show even before Season 2 was released. But when will Season 3 release? Find out more below!
Wednesday Season 3 to begin filming in 2026
According to Production List, Wednesday has officially opened its writers’ room for Season 3. The third season of the Netflix series is scheduled to begin filming in spring 2026 in Wicklow, Ireland. Production relocated from Romania to Ireland for Season 2. Luckily, the gap between filming for seasons is shorter, as the eight-episode series usually takes a little over a year to complete, with post-production.
Wednesday Season 3 release date
As the series is set to start filming around March 2026, the show will not be able to release in 2026. It seems likely the show could be back two years after the release of Season 2 in summer 2027. While that is still a long wait, it is significantly better than the time between Seasons 1 and 2, as most logistics have been figured out.

About Wednesday Season 3 (Spoilers ahead!)
Alfred Gough and Miles Millar are the co-creators and co-showrunners on Wednesday. Speaking about the next instalment, Gough said, “Our goal for Season 3 is the same as it is for every season: to make it the best season of Wednesday we possibly can. We want to continue digging deeper into our characters while expanding the world of Nevermore and Wednesday.”
The makers have dropped several hints about where Season 3 could go. First off, there's the matter of finding Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers), Wednesday's (Jenna Ortega) roommate. As Wednesday sets off to look for Enid, she also finds that her missing Aunt Ophelia has been imprisoned by her grandmother Hester Frump (Joanna Lumley). Besides these key stories, Nevermore needs a new principal again and the Hyde Tyler (Hunter Doohan) is searching for a like-minded community that will take him in.
